Sorry for the posting delay... things have been pretty crazy since I started working.
H started spending the days with his Grandmas - he is doing GREAT! His Grandmas are taking such great care of him!
I spent last week in all sorts of trainings: CPR, First aid, suicide & homicide detection/prevention, Intellectual/developmental delays, Prevention and management of aggressive behaviors, crisis intervention, documentation, deaf/hard of hearing services, a day and a half of computer classes... I can't remember what else.
I've started meeting with clients and visiting shelters and hospitals so it has been nice to get to interact with clients and see more of the community we are working with.
H got 3 teeth in the course of about 5 days - yikes! I think he is still teething and expect to see some more pop through any day now.
We went to San Antonio for a wedding last weekend and got to spend some time with Elyse & Stephen which was sooooo fun!
And I saved the BEST FOR LAST.... Jeff got offered a job today!!! Yay! I am so proud of him and we are both very grateful. He will be working for Cameron in their shop and starts in 2 weeks. Due to the current ban on drilling the hours are pretty out of control right now - like 80 hours a week! So, you can be praying for us as we make that big transition to Jeff being gone and working so much.
I have a ton of pictures and videos that need uploading... but, this is all I've got energy for now. I'll try again later this week!
Yay Jeff! Praise the Lord for his faithfulness and provision for us!
Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1Corinthians 10:31. That is life on purpose.

Books Jeff read in 2009
Hello All!
Since I have yet to post on our new blog I figured that it was time for me to post seeing as how Erin went to the trouble of creating a new blog. I wrote this back when Erin was posting about all the books she had read, so here are the books I read in 2009.
Culture Shock- A good book for getting ready to move overseas.
Total Money Makeover- While I agree with being debt free I disagree with a couple of parts of this book.
Same Kind of different as Me- I think this was my favorite I read. I don’t recommend books very often but I did recommend this to a friend and he too loved it.
Pillars and Prophets- This was a great book but I left it on the plane at least once. It was a good thing we had something like seven extra copies that we were wanting to give away.
The Richest Man in Babylon- This is another money book that tells a story. The basic idea is spend less than you make, 1/10 of what you make goes to giving and 1/10 goes to savings. Also, don’t invest in something you don’t know anything about unless you consult a third party who knows something about what you are investing in.
The power of a Praying Husband- If you are married or engaged read the book.
Playing for Pizza- My first John Grisham book. It was recommended by a friend and I loved it and started reading some of his other books.
The Irresistible Revolution- A friend let me borrow this book and I loved it. I need to give it back.
Knuckleheads- Yes, this is a children’s book. My sister sent it to me in Iraq and I cried cause I laughed so hard. If you want a funny book to read pick this one up.
The Millionaire Next Door- I found this book and thought it would be interesting and then a few weeks later my uncle offered to get this book for me. It was very interesting. Most millionaires do not live like they are millionaires hence the reason they probably are.
Three Cups of Tea- I loved this book. Part of it may be because I have been in this area and can picture a lot of what is being talked about. Either way read the book it was amazing.
The Expectant Father- Good book for dads to be.
The Summons- Couldn’t put the book down. This was my second John Grisham book.
The Testament- Same as above.
Well those are the books I read in 2009. I enjoyed them all. Have any of you read some of these books or wanting to add any of them to your list? I do realize that I probably enjoy books that some of you would fall asleep to but there are a few I think everyone would enjoy!

update for Jeff
Jeff is in Turkey right now and can't get into his e-mail accounts or call so I'm posting an update here for him to read. So, this is way more info than I would usually post here, but I want to be sure Jeff knows what is going on.
We took H to the hospital this morning because his breathing was getting worse and he was getting a rattle in his chest. The doctor said with RSV if babies are going to be hospitalized or if it is going to get much wore it will between day 3-5. Today is day 3 and so far the fluid isn't in his lungs yet but he is still having lots of stuff in his chest that he can't cough out. So, the doctor is giving him some antibiotics because he now has ear infections in both ears and he will be starting a breathing treatment with an inhaler and face mask every 2 hours to help his lungs to open up and get him breathing better. His fever seems to be better but he is still loosing a lot of fluid and not eating very well so we have switched from milk to a pedialite diet. I'm also having to suction his throat ever hour to help him get rid of the stuff he can't cough up and since it is worse at night I have to get up every 30 minutes to suction his throat for the next 2-3 nights or until we start seeing improvement in his breathing and coughing. H is with your parents right now so I can get his medicine and get some sleep. We can't come with your Dad tomorrow to come get you because I have to take H back to the doctor again so they can listen to his breathing and make sure the fluid isn't in his lungs yet. Make sure you sleep as much as you can on the plane because you guys are going to head straight back instead of spending the night in Houston, and there is not much sleeping going on here at night - so try to catch up as much as possible. Hope your flights back are uneventful, looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow when you land in Chicago. Love you and can't wait for you to get home... really.
